The Revenant operative in frame one was scripted as “locking eyes uncomfortably”. He accidentally became “well duh” in the sketch and I rolled with it.

I generally try avoid making Todd and the cast too dumb for the sake of readers. I hate it when characters are like, “Brother! How are you?” as a clunky device to build relationships and narrative. So more often than not I prefer to leave context clues in how the characters talk.

But he really needed to be slow to the man in a skull mask being a member of Revenant to make this chapter work. It’s one place in the story I’m not mad about the visuals as a storytelling mechanic. It made more sense in black and white in the script.
