Oooh, where is this? Who knows? MYSTERY.
This page took a few goes around. Early in drawing this chapter I was obviously finding my feet and style on the fly. I agonised for ages about building environments in 3D, weighing the accuracy of a digital “camera” with proper perspective against winging it on the fly, and the time savings each option might offer.
As you might be able to glean, I opted for 3D. Good at backgrounds, I am not. But I can throw together a 3D environment that’s passible in a couple sittings in Blender. It’s especially useful for complex environments like this one, and sets that I will be coming back to again and again.
Also as a way of credit. I am using Nate Piekos’s Webletterer. Amongst other fonts from Blambot on their indie licence. Really wanted this one to look as good as I can without inadvertently stepping on toes and copyright issues.
