Yeeeah this is one that I had to walk a line and reword a few times. The final one kinda spells it out more than I'd like, but his is a real linchpin in the plot. It's a section I remember getting quite specific feedback on in the earlier scripts.
But this is also a fun place to lean into the addition of Emma in this cast. Todd could never reeeeally open up like this in the first version of the script, because he didn't have this kind of relationship in Conspiracy. Emma makes a fun foil for him, given the slightly revised backstories.
